Workshop: Equipment Rigging

Today we’ve had a workshop learning the fundamentals of rigging the equipment we’ll be using on the shoot. The basics from setting up a tripod to mounting the CANNON C300 and attaching a lens to it. We also have the ninja and the Jib we can use as well. The ninja allows us to shoot in a higher resolution; retaining professional quality. The Jib allows us to film shots with a more fluid movement than that of a pan or tilt. It also allows us to create the feeling of parallax.

I personally found this workshop very beneficial. I’ve considered the sort of role I want to do. I want to put myself forward for director to further gain experience in the role; however I am quite keen on going for the role of cinematographer after today’s workshop. The control and construction of the cinematic shots is something I find very interesting.
