Back To The Drawing Board

With the bear idea mostly in place, we needed to get our second idea finalised. We did some more brainstorming and we found that Pride id significantly related to age and independence; or the supposed feeling of shame when depending on people too much:

We then thought about possibly having an old person that is defiant in his old age that refuses to accommodate himself in better circumstances to support his disabilities. We also thought that there could be pride in a valuable object he had. We said in this case a record player that he and his wife used to dance to. We also thought that his antagonist could be the youth outside his house that are desecrating it. But he is still defiant not to move. But, they then throw a brick through the window which breaks the record player at the climax of the film which then changes him and suddenly all that defiance is gone:
