Brainstorming Ideas

Group Sketches:

 Our initial task is to sketch the first things in our heads when we think of pride. A lot of people drew mirrors relating to pride in appearance. Other ideas included pride in accomplishments; such as mankind's first steps on the moon. There are also drawings suggesting pride of heritage; these vary for different people. Mine is a pyramid on account of part of my heritage being Egyptian roots.

We've taken the images and started drawing similarities from them. Most of them are to do with self worth and feeling good about one's self.

We then took the main points and wrote down concepts of pride to work a story from. The points that stood out were using social media as a boost for ego, taking pride in possessions and a person being so consumed by pride, they don't know they're the antagonist. One thing we explored further was creating an arc for a character by using pride and its antithesis; which ranged from shame, modesty and humility. This leads on to the point of starting with nothing and end with everything and being changed by it.

Now that we have the main points, we each have to come up with our own story concept to share with the group; using one or more of these points.
